Roostin

Something I love about Roosters is that they seem to have endless confidence for no reason in particular. They always seem to live by “Chin up, Chest out, Move forward.” During my time working in Ybor City, the historically Cuban neighborhood in Tampa, I fell in love with Roosters and chickens. Seeing them eat, roost, walk, fight, mate and protect their families inspired me.

Roosting 14: Afterburn.” I love this piece almost as much as I love skating fast. I’ve wanted to draw a Rollerblading rooster for some time

Here is “Roostin 03: A-D”. The bases of all my modern rooster illustrations.

“Roostin’ 10/ Desert Vibes 3” Created during my Joshua Tree Art Residency. My design was inspired by the theme of Love Box and heart shape beaver tail cacti I’d seen in the desert. Ive also been wanting to put a rooster in public for some time.I’m not a painter, but I rarely say no to the challenge. If you find this piece in Palm Springs on Tahquiz and El Segundo take a pic with it and send to me! Making of here.

“Roostin 12: Coctopus B&W” A ocean themed airbnb on a trip to Florida inspired this Rooster+Octopus mashup. Check out the animation here.

Roostin 06: 34 Block Prints. For 06 I created a series of 34 holiday prints and sent them out to the first 27 people who requested them. Contact me if you’re interested in buying one of the last few remaining.

Roostin 09: XL It was on display at @111minnagallery reopening show. Wanted to experiment with taking my digital work into a physical space. With the help of @nobelyoo and Jay Zuerndorfer of @syzygycoop for encouraging me to go BIG for this Lazer cut. Making of here.

“Desert Vibes 01: Cactus Kween” and “Desert Vibes 02 Corona Heights” are both indirectly Rooster pieces. Check out more about these here.
