In 2015 when I went to Marrakech I took a picture of a woman at the Ben Youssef Mosque. She was staring out of a window smiling gently and thinking about something. The possible things on her mind were endless. Maybe she was thinking about nothing at all? In addition to wondering what was on her mind I was also enamored with Moroccan architecture. They incorporated so many complex geometric patterns into the buildings. I decided to explore other cultural patterns and structures to pair them with other women and their respective cultures. Moroccan, Aboriginal, American, Mexican, Japanese, Ndebele.
In 2021 This piece was blown up to billboard size and displayed in Sarasota FL for the Embracing our Differences exhibit.
